Gotta make this quick

So much to do, so little time. I am not yet packed, laundry isn’t done, no where near to close to ready. I am on my way out the door to work. I won’t have much of an opportunity to post until I get back from Germany on the 7th. Until next time, friends.

Long day?

Wow, am I tired. My day hasn’t been particularly long but none the less I am exhausted. Still, I think I will go out to see the funkest band in T-town tonight, The Wreckers. I can’t wait to see my friends in Germany next week. Only 3 days to go. I still need to get packing. (First I should figure out what I am going to take.) Well I have plenty of time. I leave on Monday. It is only Friday. No problem. I don’t procrastinate at all. Nah…

Happy Birthday

Wanted to wish my cousin Jason a happy birthday.

And thanks for helping me set up this blog.

How To Take Back America

Check it out….

How To Take Back America by Thom Hartmann

A very interesting article by a friend of mine. This article has inspired me to rethink some of my political ideas.

mistake

My mistake. It is the war in Iraq. They are fighting back. Well at least some of them are. May peace prevail on earth.

War vs. Attack

When a war is only being fought by one side, isn’t that called an attack or an invasion? Perhaps the “War in Iraq” should be called the “Attack of Iraq”

Pre-emptive Strikes

What is a pre-emptive strike? We attack them before they attack us. If I would do that because I thought my neighbor was thinking about mugging me, I would be arrested. But when a country, our country, does that it is acceptable. I don’t understand that.

On a school playground, a boy is teasing a smaller student. The other kids think it is funny. At least they are laughing on the outside, perhaps they are too scared to say what they really feel. This boy goes through this teasing ritual every day. Day in and day out. He becomes withdrawn at school and at home. His parents are working and assume it is a phase. After a while he gets the label of a loner.

This loner, once a “normal” kid, now always feels alone. This was his defense mechanism, avoid the teasing and torment. Now he feels disconnected from everyone. What happens if as he gets older and starts becoming a man, he wants retribution. What if he finds a gun at his house or knows where to buy one.

This is not such an implausible thought. I am quite sure things like this have happened. Most do not find their way to a tragic end. Some do.

So no matter your age or status in life, if you see something you know is wrong say something. Do something. When someone hurts you they hurt me. We are not as disconnected from each other as we imagine ourselves to be. I believe that we are all part of a greater whole. We are all connected in ways we cannot comprehend…. yet. Someday we will. We are getting closer everyday.
