Ignorance is bliss. There are times when I wish I didn’t know some of the things I do.

I wish I believed that there was an endless supply of oil. So I wouldn’t worry about using paper bags instead of plastic or driving aimlessly. I wish I didn’t know about the health risks of eating animal products, the living conditions they are subjected to or the horrible side effects the environment suffers from raising so many animals. I wish I still believed that money really does bring you happiness and that buying new stuff satisfied you. I wish I wasn’t compelled to recycle.

The reality is once you have seen the light, been unplugged, or whatever you choose to call it. Living how you once did is near impossible. Sometimes I wish I could go to a steakhouse or fast food joint and enjoy a meal. But I can’t, I know what I know and I can’t unlearn it. So now I feel my destiny to awaken others to the myths that have been ingrained into our culture.

I suppose I don’t want to unlearn it anyway. It is just, life was so much simpler when I was asleep to everything.

Well, I went, I saw, I left. Nice building but not what I think I am looking for. It has a lot of potential but a little too small for my ideas. I guess I need to mull it over and see if I can modify my game plan (or modify the building.) Chalk up this one to experience I suppose. Later, time to mow the lawn.

Walk Through

I am of a very entrepreneurial mind. I am always thinking about different businesses to open or things to do to be my own boss. For several years I have been wanting to buy a commercial building and fix it up. I have been close a couple of times but each time it falls through.

I am going to go through a cool building this morning. I have liked this place for a while. I happened to drive by the other day and saw it for sale. This would be a huge undertaking for me so we shall see. Yes, Amy this is all part of my idea. It should make sense in time. Nothing ventured nothing gained, right? Well I better get everything in order before I go.

Literally. As you may know I work in a retail sales environment. How is it people can go out letting themselves smell so bad? There is B.O. (and worse) and stench from cigarettes. It is amazing that people smell as bad as they do and don’t realize it. Do they become immune to themselves? Sometimes I need to hold my breath. I can understand smoking cigarettes but come on wash yourself and your clothes once in a while.

The other one that gets me are the women that put on waaaaay too much purfume. It always makes me sneeze. So is it just me are my olfactory senses too sensitive?

I won’t get started on people’s teeth. I will save that one. OK real quick. Brush them. They might not fall out then. Until next time.

So I have this idea formulating. The problem is I can’t articulate it yet. It is like I am making bread waiting for the dough to rise. I can feel the idea but I can’t describe it. This is wild…I love it when this happens. Now if only I could see it. Until next time.

Understand that I am not into politics that much. I do however like to be educated in my choices. Seems like Kucinich and I see eye to eye on a couple of issues.

This is the headline that I came across.

Your Vegan Holistic President / Sure an odd, spiritual guy like Dennis Kucinich doesn’t have a chance in hell. But it sure is nice to dream.

I did it. Actually, I am about to mail it. I filled out the form for my college transcripts to be evaluated to see what it takes for me to become a teacher. There is a stream-lined program to get your teaching certificate with a master’s degree. It takes about a year FULL time.

I don’t know if I can work full time and go to school full time. I was doing that last time towards the end of my bachelor’s degree. I don’t know if I can pull it off now. I guess I can with less *gasp* online time and A LOT of focus. We shall see what they say. I guess I need to start looking at financial aide papers again too.

It is about time I step up. I can’t keep griping about current situations without some plan. I guess I am fomulating a plan. So should I teach math or science? Oh the decisions!!! Until next time.

This site looks very interesting. It seems things are just getting started.

Unbrand America

In the end, the Resistance was known for one thing  they simply would not participate. Not in the 24-hour economy, the 60-hour work week, the flag-waving parades, the media manias, the permanent fear, the cheers for the troops. And then there was their mark, of course. It crept into daily life, until it became a constant reminder that these really were bleak times. Until one day you no longer knew who was in control - the empire that was everywhere - or this invisible revolution.

This is our pledge:

Because my country has sold its soul to corporate power,
Because consumerism has become our national religion,
Because we’ve forgotten the true meaning of freedom,
And because patriotism now means agreeing with the president,

So I was wondering do most people have more entries on there blogs or more comments. I am pretty new to all of this. I have been blogging for almost 3 months. Organic apples rock!!! Maybe it is in my head but, they taste better. They don’t have any of that disgusting wax on there either. If you haven’t tried organic food yet you should. Specifically fruit and vegetables. Maybe I notice the flavor because it is not mixed with anything. It is just peach flavor or apple or pear.

Produce seems to be the same price as the stuff pumped with chemicals. Sometime it is a little more, but not much. Some other organic items I have come across do cost more. But this is one area where the playing field is level.

I can’t believe I am blogging about produce. So what are you waiting for, find your nearest LOCAL produce market and get yours. I am sure I will rant about patronizing LOCALLY owned businesses some other time. Until then.
